ASCEND Buddy Clubs

ASCEND now sponsors two Buddy Clubs in the Philadelphia region. They are sponsored by the ASCEND chapters in Montgomery and Chester Counties and are open to all ASCEND member families.

Buddy Clubs offer our children and teens the opportunity to foster friendships through play and games in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. The groups meet on the schedules listed below. Parents must stay with their child/teen and can use this time as a chance to connect with other parents. 

Buddy Club "Fit Fridays" focus on play and developing sports skills.Parents will be expected to stay and supervise/participate with their children. Each Fit Friday will have a theme or specific fitness focus: i.e. basketball, soccer, kickball, biking, hiking, tennis, baseball. Themes will be announced before each event so children can bring the appropriate equipment. Due to the nature of the group, Fit Fridays will be held on a weather-permitting basis at the Copper Beech Elementary School playground in Glenside, PA.. All families who have registered for a specific date will be notified via email should a cancellation be necessary. Please note, we will need an RSVP from families planning to attend Buddy Club activities at least two days prior to each event. (For Montgomery County, the RSVP only applies to community outings and Fit Fridays, not get-togethers at the Parenting Center.) See contact info below.
